Age-Appropriate Experiences
YMCA Infant-Toddler care program provides babies the consistent, positive attention they need to grow. Y staff are aware of the developmental stages of these early years, and work to guide your child’s growth. Positive relationships with your Y caregiver help your child learn to trust others - and themselves.
YMCA Preschool care builds on a child’s natural desire to learn new things and become self-reliant. Getting along with other children, sharing, taking turns and working in groups are a natural part of playing games and learning new skills and the Y offers an exciting, challenging place for preschoolers to do just that. The YMCA Preschool is a safe, comfortable place where children build positive relationships with caring adults, and learn to stretch and grow in mind and body.
YMCA School-Age care makes sure that the time before and after school is filled creatively and constructively - and with qualified supervision. In Y school-age care programs, kids express their talents in art, sports and other areas of interest, taking advantage of all the Y has to offer. Kids learn how to succeed not only by winning, but simply by getting in the game. Time is also set aside for tackling homework, with adults standing by to help. Y staff members are trained to challenge children, listen to children and provide positive reinforcement for their achievements.
Focus on Family
At the YMCA, we realize that no matter how many hours a child spends in a day care environment, family is the most important structure in their lives: Good child care is good family care. Staff members work together with parents and other caregivers to help kids grow up healthy, happy and strong. Like all Y programs, child care is open to everyone, and financial aid is available.
Committed to Your Child’s Safety and Protection
The YMCA was one of the first national organizations to take a stand in the critical area of child abuse prevention. When you enroll your child in a YMCA program, you are entrusting us with your greatest treasure. The caring, professional staff at your YMCA takes that responsibility very seriously. We encourage parents to visit at any time and solicit their input and full involvement. |
