There is a 2-hour time limit per morning or evening session for children in the nursery. There is a daily limit of 3 hours per child. (Virginia General Assembly, 2000 Session) Parents/Guardians must stay in the building while your child is in the Child Watch. You will be asked to let the staff know upon signing in the area(s) you will be using. Only YMCA Staff, Child Watch participants and their parent/guardian are allowed in the Child Watch. Children must be signed in and out of the Child Watch. If someone other than the person who signs the child

Parents/Guardians will be asked to do the following: diaper change, take care of child who has been crying longer than 20 minutes, handle discipline problems. Your timely response is appreciated.
Food is not allowed. Drinks in a plastic container with a lid are welcome.
Guests may use the Child Watch for a fee of $5 per visit. Please pay at the front desk and show your receipt when signing their child(ren) in. The YMCA is not responsible for members’/guests’ belonging. You must have a family membership to leave children in the nursery over the age of 2 years old. Otherwise you will be charged a fee of $5 per child.
Policy for Sick Children
Please do not bring sick or contagious children to the Child Watch.
If your child has a runny nose combined with fever, rash (including poison ivy/oak), diarrhea, cough or has had head lice or pinkeye he/she will not be admitted. If your child’s condition is questionable, please check with your pediatrician. When in doubt, ask yourself; would I want my child sharing toys and playing with another child who has the same symptoms?
One the first day of inclement weather, the morning Child Watch hours follow Lynchburg City Schools closing or delay. Evening hours will be determined by 2pm based on the current weather conditions. On subsequent days, please call ahead. We will make every effort to have the Child Watch open as scheduled
